Unexisted Roots

“World music from my world.

I’m working on rearranging Hungarian folksongs completely to my vision, respecting the material, but give it my own taste. Working with loop sometimes alone, and in duo with piano.

The melodies and the lyrics are given, but the harmonies guide and change the whole picture. The not wildly known melodies meet with the never before heard arrangements.”

Csilla Szabó choose an ancient source to work on, the result is a meeting point: songs from the heart of tinny country’s now gone people and the arrangements of a single person. You have to listen to understand it. No words can really describe flavours you never tasted, same way as no words can describe a music you never in your life heard.
